Australian synth-rock artist, The Orphaned Bee is the brain-child of renowned sound engineer and multi-instrumentalist Brett Tollis.
“Thinking Without Language’, the genre-bending debut EP release is punctuated by soaring melodies, prog beats, vocoders, 80’s synth lines, 90s guitar sounds and 2000s glitches. Released through Bird’s Robe Records (We Lost The Sea, sleepmakeswaves, Closure in Moscow) on February 28th 2025, the EP has received an overwhelmingly positive response.
The 5 tracks take you on an emotional journey of optimism, pain, joy, fear and eventual redemption.
The superb production features Alex O’Toole (Meniscus) on drums , mixing and additional piano by Ron Pollard (Tangled Thoughts of Leaving, Yomi Ship) with drums recorded by Tim Carr (We Lost the Sea, Matt Corby). Lyrics written by Laura Boettcher and Brett Tollis.
